The New York City Council is expected to approve New York University’s massive, $ 5 billion expansion plan tomorrow, much to the dismay of community activists, NYU staff and Greenwich Village residents who say it will ruin their neighborhood.

The plan, in the works for several years, was rejected by the local community board but was recently approved by a committee of the City Council.
